Ken Walch (born 1927)

Frame size: 140 cm x 110 cm

Walch was born in Wimbledon in 1927. After school he moved to Australia in the early 1950’s and won a place at the National Gallery Art School in Melbourne where he studied under Murray Griffin until 1953 when he returned to England. He then enrolled at St Martins School of Art where his principal tutor was the colourist, Fredrick Gore. Gore introduced him to English post impressionism and the use of colour to emphasise the emotional aspects of painting. Walch took a diploma in Art Teaching and taught in various schools until his retirement

Exhibitions:
Ken Walch has exhibited in London at The Royal Academy and the Federation of Painters and Sculptors
His work has also been exhibited in Belgium, Germany, Hong Kong and Ireland, with paintings in private collections throughout the world
